FAQs
We’ve got answers to your label project questions!
How do I know InkWise Label is the right fit for my business?
If you’re a small business that needs beautiful custom printed labels, we are the one for you. We specialize in working with small businesses, like yours. As a small business ourselves, we understand your challenges and do all we can to make things easy for you and help you succeed.
What is the delivery time for my order?
Our typical production cycle is 5-7 days. An order that requires special materials or a custom shaped cutting die may require a bit more time.
What is an artwork proof?
This is a PDF proof of your label design. You’ll be sent an artwork proof of your label design to check the sizing, layout, and copy and confirm its accuracy before your order moves into production. Artwork PDF proofs are free of charge and included in any artwork design/change fees.
What is a press-proof?
Press proofs are printed on the same press as your order, so they are the most accurate representation of what your finished labels will look like. You’ll see the true colors of your label design on the actual production materials. You can even peel off the backing to apply them to your product to test the look and feel of the final label.
What is the cost of a press-proof?
We offer a free press-proof for all new Digital Label orders. If changes to your label design are needed after receiving your free press-proof, additional sets can be produced for an extra fee. Shipping charges for press-proofs are additional.
Do you color match?
We can color match Pantone colors from print related Pantone color books or to a supplied color swatch. You may send a color swatch or sample and we will custom mix on-press to the closes possible match.
I’ve never ordered labels before. How should I get started?
You may be new to this, but we are not. We are here to help. The best way to get started is to schedule a call to talk about your project. We can answer your questions, gather some project info and provide a project roadmap for you to follow, so you may avoid mis-steps and achieve your project goals.
I have a design idea. Can you help me turn that into printed labels?
We sure can. All that we need to get started is your logo, label copy and a simple sketch. We’ll put it all together for you and, after proofing and revisions, you’ll have press-ready artwork ready for label production.
I have some artwork, but I need minor changes. Can you help with that?
Yes. Changes to sizing, colors, copy or adding barcodes are common, simple artwork changes. Artwork changes will be charged a minimum of $30 or $75 per hour depending on the time required.
What is the minimum number of labels that I need to order?
Our minimum is 500 labels per size/layout. You may have multiple versions of the same size/layout grouped together to achieve the 500 label minimum, with each versions being a minimum of 100 labels. (Example: 100 labels each of versions A, B, C, D, E for a total of 500 labels)
Do you have setup or plate fees?
We do not have additional fees for setup or printing plates. No surprises or add-ons.
How much does it cost for a custom shape cutting die?
Sometimes we do not have a particular size or shape in stock the you need to order. In that case, you will need to order a custom die to cut labels in that specific size or shape.
All standard shaped dies have a $175 fee. All special shaped dies have a $300 fee. This is a one-time fee in order for us to get the die made and shipped to us. Once we have it, it will be part of our regular stock of dies.
Are my labels supplied on rolls?
Our labels are produced on professional printing presses that convert the materials from roll-to-roll. The labels are provided on rolls and, in most cases, can be positioned to come off the roll as needed for use with machine applications.
How do I pay for my order?
Our standard order payment method is via credit card. Since all products and services are custom, payments are required prior to production.
